Laura Fant (President) – Laura has lived in Jersey City since 2010 (currently residing with her husband and three cats in Paulus Hook) and enjoys all that the city has to offer in terms of cultural events, neighborhood activities, local shops and restaurants, and community involvement. She is an attorney focusing on employment law practicing at Proskauer Rose LLP in NYC is an alumnus of Seton Hall University School of Law (class of 2010) and Boston University (class of 2003). Laura has been a Board member of Jersey City Ties since 2013 and has long enjoyed being active in the JC community. She previously served on the board of the Harsimus Cove Association.

Jeremy Jacobsen (Vice President) – Jeremy is a founding member of Jersey City Ties and has been one of its Board members since the organization began in 2011. He is a solo practitioner at The Law Office of Jeremy Jacobsen, LLC, where he focuses on transactional & municipal law in Jersey City and larger Hudson County, including negotiating commercial agreements for small business and individuals, and representing clients before municipal court, and other municipal bodies. Jeremy earned his J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law in 2009, and his B.A. in Psychology from Rutgers University longer ago than he’d care to admit (let’s just say grunge wasn’t completely out of style). In between collecting these degrees, he wore a number of hats in a small book manufacturing company. Jeremy has called Downtown Jersey City his home since 2006, and now lives with his wife in Harsimus Cove, where he can frequently be seen wandering around in any number of classic rock, minor league baseball, or Jersey City-themed t-shirts. He is a past president of the Harsimus Cove Association.

Nicholas Holiday (Secretary) – Nick has long been an active member of Jersey City Ties and joined the Board in 2015. Nick works in Global Project Management for Merck and has greater than 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry spanning various roles including research and development, manufacturing, supply chain management, and project management. He holds various certifications including Six Sigma Green Belt (via Merck), Certified Supply Chain Professional (via APICS), and Project Management Professional (via PMI). Nick received a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Georgia Tech in 2004, an M.S. in Chemical Engineering from Rutgers in 2007, and an MBA from New York University in 2010 with specializations in Strategy and Operations Management. He grew up in Atlanta, GA before moving north almost 11 years ago and has lived in Jersey City for 4 years. He currently resides in the Harsimus Cove neighborhood with his girlfriend and their two cats.

James Fant (Treasurer) – James has been a resident of Jersey City since 2010 and currently resides in the Paulus Hook neighborhood. He has served on the Board of Jersey City Ties since 2012 and was previously on the board of the Harsimus Cove Association. James graduated from Seton Hall University School of Law in 2009 and is a certified civil trial attorney at Hardin, Kundla, McKeon & Poletto in Springfield, NJ. He is also a musician and enjoys running and learning more about the history of Jersey City.

Andrea Long (Director of Public Relations) – Andrea is originally from Wyckoff, NJ and is in her second year serving on the Jersey City Ties Board. Since moving to Jersey City in 2011, she has enjoyed becoming an active member of the community and has volunteered with several organizations, including the Historic Jersey City & Harsimus Cemetery and Metropolitan Family Health Network, a federally qualified health center where she is a member of the board of trustees. Andrea is the Donor Relations Manager for the New Jersey affiliate of the American Civil Liberties Union. When she’s not volunteering or working, she enjoys reading, going to museums, taking care of her animal family (two cats and one dog), catching up with friends, and Netflix marathons.
