Jersey City Ties

Jersey City Ties Board of Directors

All of the members of the JC Ties Board can be reached at info@jerseycityties.com.

Jeremy Jacobsen (President) – Jeremy is a founding member of Jersey City Ties and has been one of its board members since the organization began in 2011. Professionally, Jeremy is a solo practitioner at The Law Office of Jeremy Jacobsen, LLC, where he focuses transactional law in Jersey City and greater Hudson County, including negotiating commercial agreements for small business, residential real estate purchases and sales, and simple estate planning such as wills. Jeremy earned his J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law in 2009, and his B.A. in Psychology from Rutgers University longer ago than he’d care to admit (let’s just say grunge was in style for the first time). In between collecting these degrees, he wore a number of hats in a small book manufacturing company. Jeremy called Downtown Jersey City his home from 2006 until March 2018. He now lives with his wife in Jersey City Heights, where he can sometimes be seen wandering around in any number of classic rock, minor league baseball, or Jersey City-themed t-shirts. Jeremy is a past president of the Harsimus Cove Association, and served on that organizations board for 4 of the years he lived downtown.

Meredith Lander (Vice President)

Andrea Long (Treasurer) – Andrea is originally from Wyckoff, NJ and is in her second year serving on the Jersey City Ties Board. Since moving to Jersey City in 2011, she has enjoyed becoming an active member of the community and has volunteered with several organizations, including the Historic Jersey City & Harsimus Cemetery and Metropolitan Family Health Network, a federally qualified health center where she is a member of the board of trustees. Andrea is the Donor Relations Manager for the New Jersey affiliate of the American Civil Liberties Union. When she’s not volunteering or working, she enjoys reading, going to museums, taking care of her animal family (two cats and one dog), catching up with friends, and Netflix marathons.

Bharathi Sethumadhavan (Director of Business Outreach) – A South Carolina native, Bharathi has been a Jersey City resident for over seven years. She currently is a Program Officer at The Clark Foundation, and helps manage and oversee the overall philanthropic efforts of the investment management firm, The Clark Estates, Inc. The Clark Foundation focuses on helping individuals lead independent and productive lives and supports nonprofits and programs in New York City and Cooperstown, NY. In her free time, Bharathi loves to volunteer at Grace Van Vorst Episcopal Church’s weekly soup kitchen, Spanish wine, being a foodie, and re-reading Judy Blume books. She also has learning to drive and visiting Fiji on her bucket list.

Josh Iannuzzi (Director of Membership) – As Internship Coordinator for the NJCU, School of Business, Josh helps to prepare and connect NJCU students and alumni to internship and employment opportunities. Prior to NJCU, Josh spent a total of 6+ years working for two agencies (America Works of NY, Inc. and Jersey City Employment & Training Program), contracted out by NYC and Jersey City, to assist constituents in finding and retaining gainful employment. Some of the populations Josh has worked with include Veterans, formerly incarcerated, non-custodial parents, public assistance recipients, and more. Josh believes that everyone deserves a job and he very much looks forward to continuing to develop opportunities for NJCU students and alumni. Josh graduated from Marist College with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and obtained his Masters of Public Administration degree from Rutgers University. Josh and his wife Hannah are proud Jersey City residents, where they have lived for the past six years with their two dogs Winnie and Sammy.

MacAdam Smith (Director of Communications) – MacAdam is a writer and marketer with over a decade of experience in creative brand strategy for corporate and nonprofit industries. He has developed marketing and communication materials for everything from caviar and private jet companies to nonprofit after school art programs. He now runs MacAdam Marketing & Communications, specializing in helping small- to medium-sized brands grow their market share and develop stronger customer and community relations. He also is the director of Content Creators Academy Jersey City, an after school program for high school students interested in digital media and marketing. MacAdam has a masters from The City College of New York and lives in Jersey City, NJ with his wife, a very friendly dog, and a bourgie cat.
